On September 3, 2020, the staff of our company cooperated with Nanchong Power Supply Company to carry out live start-up tests of the high-pressure water mist fire extinguishing system of Binjiang Substation No. 1 and No. 2 main transformers respectively. During the construction of the high-pressure water mist fire extinguishing system, we have passed the static effect test and electric linkage test under simulated fire for many times, with perfect function and timely response.
This test focuses on examining the influence of water mist on the operation of the main transformer, eliminating the possibility of the discharge and trip of the main transformer caused by the misoperation of the fire extinguishing system, and building a solid defensive line to ensure the safety of power grid equipment and field personnel.
On the same day, under the instructions of the on-site command team, after the fire extinguishing system was started, water mist quickly filled the main transformer room, indoor temperature dropped, oxygen content plummeted, simulated fire hidden danger was successfully eliminated within the estimated time. However, within 60 seconds of the fire extinguishing system operation, the two main transformers did not discharge, flashover, and other phenomena, and the equipment kept safe and stable operation, meeting the expected requirements.
